The green bee-eater: this is known as 'banspati' in Bengal.This nice green cloured bird is a bee-eater that usually eats various insects, especially bees and dragonflies. They also eat wasps. The bee-eaters are generally found in the open areas, rice field and farmlands. This is seen to be sitting on an electrical wire.
This has been captured in the rural area of Panskura, East Midnapore, West Bengal.
